This God has revealed himself as Creator and thus the
owner of all that is. He
has given us complete freedom to create whether we create
with respect to him or without respect to him. "...for he makes his sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike]." (Matthew 5:45b, the New Testament, the Bible)
While there is general blessing on the earth such as the sun rising and setting each day and the progression of the seasons (Genesis 8:22), there is another sense that
we are responsible to God for what we do with what he has loaned to us for our life time. "
A man planted a vineyard and leased it to some vinedressers and went to another country for a long stay. When the right season came, he sent a bond servant to the tenants so that they might give to him [his part] of the fruit of the vineyard; but the tenants beat (thrashed) and dishonored him and insulted him disgracefully and sent him away empty-handed. And he sent still another servant; him they also beat (thrashed) and dishonored and insulted him disgracefully and sent him away empty-handed. And he sent yet a third; this one they wounded and threw out [of the vineyard]. Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; it is probable that they will respect him.' But when the tenants saw him, they argued among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir; let us kill him so that the inheritance may be ours.' So they drove him out of the vineyard and killed him.
What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? He will come and [utterly] put an end to those tenants and will give the vineyard to others." (Luke 20:9b-15, the New Testament, the Bible)
We are both individually and corporately responsible for what we do on this earth and those of us who rule over others are held to a higher standard.
There is no way without God's help that we can meet God's standard. If we do not know his standard, we do not know that we fall short. At this point one might want to stop investigating as ignorance is bliss. However,
in what country is ignorance of the law a reason to be free to disobey it without punishment? God is aware and has said, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." Hosea 4:6a (the Old Testament, the Bible)
While
the Bible is full of stories of the actions of people and the actions of God, here are two that may be familiar to illustrate that while we might not know him initially, he is still in charge and makes his judgments known.
Exodus 1-16 (Old Testament, the Bible) describes the interaction of Moses and Pharaoh of Egypt in relation to God's request through Moses that the people of God be able to worship God. The movie The Ten Commandments starring Charlton Heston may be known to you.
Egypt had to endure 10 plagues to understand it was God making the request and not just a man.
(Exodus 1 and you can change it to Exodus 2, etc, as you read.)

Kings 18:17-39 (Old Testament, the Bible) describes the interaction of Elijah (God's prophet) and the Baal prophets (not God's prophets). It was a contest to see
which God/god had the power to answer by fire. Elijah even made it "difficult" for God by making the conditions harder (wetter). The contest results were enforced as all the Baal prophets were killed. What happened? How many Baal prophets were there? Look it up!

Who is the God of the Bible?
Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
The
Father wills what is to happen. The
Son executes the will of the Father. The
Holy Spirit searches the hearts of people and
applies the presence of God to them.
